Some Branding Process

I'm just wrapping up a branding project and reviewing the early imagery sketches that led me to the final designs. Without sharing too many details, the project involves mail, and saw me creating moodboards, imagery style, logo, branding guidelines, a website, and some social ads.

The imagery portion was where most of the direction came from, and where most of the play happened. Inspired by envelope security patterns, mail materials, and the notion of concealment, I started with some stock images and explored different ways of altering them — 

and eventually created larger compositions that integrated found mail materials, stock imagery, and a few household office supplies.

While the final direction for the brand's imagery was much more pared down than these explorations, the overall concepts held, and I had fun getting crafty off-screen.
